About the Designer
“Meticulous Craftsmanship, Meaningful Spaces - BCIN Qualified in Ontario”
Kiseok Kim is the owner and a BCIN-qualified designer (Small Buildings category) serving the Greater Toronto Area, Windsor and Essex County, and across Ontario.
With his Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) in the Small Buildings qualification—and informed by eight years of hands-on experience as a shop drawing drafter in the construction industry—Kiseok is legally authorized to prepare, review, and submit building permit drawings and applications that comply with the Ontario Building Code (OBC). This includes designs for single-family homes, multi-unit residential projects, additions and renovations, accessory structures (garages, decks, sheds), and small commercial or mixed-use buildings up to 600 m² (6,458 sq ft) in building area—covering most residential and small-scale projects under Part 9 of the OBC.
This practical background, combined with proficiency in BIM workflows, equips him to deliver highly constructible and coordinated designs. Having used Revit and Navisworks to collaborate across trades on projects ranging from small-scale (hundreds of square feet) to large commercial developments (up to millions of square feet), Kiseok leverages tools like Revizto and BIM360 for seamless coordination, clash detection, and real-time issue resolution. For clients, this translates to detailed 3D models and visualizations that clearly communicate design intent—helping homeowners envision their space with confidence while enabling builders and contractors to minimize revisions, change orders, and on-site surprises. When beneficial, Kiseok can provide Revit files to support smooth collaboration with trades, suppliers, and construction teams.
He completed his architectural studies at George Brown Polytechnic and is currently enrolled in the RAIC Syllabus Program through the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada(RAIC), pursuing licensure as an Architect. As a member of the Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario(AATO) and the Toronto Society of Architects(TSA), Kiseok actively participates in events, lectures, and ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest building codes, design trends, and best practices.
Kiseok has always aspired to find meaning and fulfillment through meaningful contributions to society. Throughout his architectural career, he has come to appreciate how thoughtful, well-designed spaces can profoundly enhance people’s well-being. Driven by this passion, his drawings are meticulously crafted—not merely to meet construction requirements, but to create buildings that truly support and enrich the lives of those who inhabit them.
